Beauty and the Beast Blu-ray
I am a sucker for animation. I have also learned my lesson about wasting money collecting things such as DVDs, CDs and books. There is one thing I still do buy physical copies of though and that is Disney and Pixar blurays. The Sleeping Beauty bluray had me picking my jaw off the floor and the Beauty and the Beast isn’t any different. No point reviewing the movie as everyone already knows it’s brilliant so I will talk briefly about the technical aspects.
As usual, Disney does a wonderful job with both the audio and video transfers. The video transfer is 1080p/AVC-encoded and the colours are incredibly vivid while the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sounds perfect. The bluray includes Two versions of Beauty and the Beast; a 92-minute “Special Extended Edition” and the film’s 85-minute theatrical cut.
A short and sweet endorsement of this Disney bluray. Run, don’t walk to pick up this awesome movie on bluray!
