Cthulhu Mythos, As Imagined By Kids
What do you get when you mix H.P. Lovecraft‘s Cthulhu Mythos and about 16 kids ranging from 8-18 years of age? Pure awesomeness of the artistic kind… and potential nightmares for the next few weeks.
David Milano “…put on some creepy Lovecraft inspired music and over the course of about and hour I told them synopsis versions of three of Lovecraft’s tales (The Shadow Out of Time, At the Mountains of Madness, The Call of Cthulhu) getting quickly through the set up and on to the descriptions of the monsters.”
Check out the galleries of the drawings below and David’s blog for more information.

Essex County Nominated For Canada Reads
Jeff Lemire’s Essex County has been nominated as a Canada Reads finalists. Essex County is actually made up of three graphic novels: Tales from the Farm, Ghost Stories and The Country Nurse. It is the first graphic novel ever in Canada Reads.
It’s really great to see that the comic/graphic novel medium is being recognized as literary works of art. It used to be that Maus was the only graphic novel people would point to as having success on the literary stage. How times have changed!
Congrats to Jeff and Top Shelf Productions and “YAY” Canada!
The Art of Tim Burton Book
Just went to TIFF here in Toronto because the new Tim Burton exhibition is opening tomorrow and not only did I see Tim Burton himself but bought the new Art of Tim Burton book! The book is beautiful and any fan of Tim Burton should definitely check it out. They also have a lot of cool Burton themed toys/figures for sale.
