Bootcamp in Toronto
I am taking a wonderful workshop called Comic Book Bootcamp with Ty Templeton at the Toronto Cartoonists Workshop. What is the Toronto Cartoonists Workshop? “The Toronto Cartoonists Workshop is a learning environment where aspiring cartoonists can study with working professionals in the North American comic book, webcomics, animation and illustration fields.”
Ty has a wealth of experience both writing and drawing various genre of comics. The beauty of this workshop is that you don’t even have to know how to draw particularly well as you will find Ty’s insights on how to engaging the reader with words and drawings to be indispensible. The class is filled with a varied set of people from different job or student backgrounds.
The BOOTCAMP covers every aspect of the art and business of making comics- including layout, storytelling, anatomy, scripting, panel transitions, dialog, plotting, inking, background and cover design, and the basic language of sequential art itself. It is the perfect entry level intensive for anyone interested in working in comics.
